The restaurant specializes in Middle Eastern cuisine, which is vegetarian by nature. Moe Mroueh, one of Mediterraneo’s owners, maintains that one of the primary reasons for serving the food is to emphasize healthy eating.
Check out our Flickr photostream of a few photos from this past weekend’s Kites Over Sycamore festival. There were dozens of kites flying, from the simple to some that were quite colorful and extravagant. Plans are already underway by Kar-Fre Flowers for a bigger and better Kites Over Sycamore in 2012!
If you were driving out of Sycamore going east this past Saturday, no doubt you saw the many colorful kites flying high in the air above Kar-Fre Flowers. It was their annual Kites Over Sycamore festival and it was very well attended.
Staff from New Values Magazine were there too, handing out the latest copies of our magazine, selling Kites Over Sycamore t-shirts and taking entries for our drawing of either a free Kites Over Sycamore t-shirt or a $25 gift certificate to Kar-Fre Flowers.
Dozens entered the drawing and the winners are….
Christy Oehlert as the winner of the free t-shirt and Marlo Oostmeyer as the winner of the Kar-Fre Flowers gift certificate!
New Values Magazine will be at Kites Over Sycamore tomorrow at Kar-Fre Flowers in Sycamore. Come join us and construct a kite and fly it in the fields behind Kar-Fre. We’ll be raffling off two prizes — a free Kites Over Sycamore t-shirt and a $20 gift certificate to Kar-Fre Flowers.
The Kites Over Sycamore event starts at 10 am and ends about 4 pm. Weather permitting, this a great family fun event that is free and a great spring event.
It’s almost May and with that comes the Cinco de Mayo Celebration, hosted by Taxco Restaurant of Sycamore. Come enjoy a fun-packed day of live music, traditional dancing, kids games, a moon walk, petting zoo, pony rides, pinatas, a margarita bar and much, much more!
Sunday, May 1st is the day, from 2 pm to 10 pm on Bill Johnson Boulevard, behind Taxco Restaurant.

Today we’re talking about fuel system cleaning. The first thing to know is how important it is to have a clean fuel system. You need fuel to go, and the cleaner your fuel system, the more efficiently the fuel will burn. That means more power and better fuel economy.
A clean fuel system saves money at the pump. We guess you could say, it all starts and ends at the pump. One of the most important things you can do to keep your fuel system clean is to buy good quality gas. Major brands have detergents that keep gum and varnish from rapidly building up in the fuel system.
