Merlin Stitch N’ Pitch

Merlin Two Hundred Thousand Mile Shops and Stitch N’ Pitch are helping raise awareness and donations for the thousands of children served by Children’s Home + Aid. Stitch N’ Pitch and the Chicago White Sox will host “Stitch N’ Pitch fans” who love needlearts at a special White Sox baseball game. Don’t miss this quirky and fun event!

It’s the Stitch N’ Pitch baseball game with the Chicago White Sox at US Cellular Field on Saturday, June 2nd.

Tickets are $35 and order forms are at Merlin Two Hundred Thousand Mile Shops or at merlins dot com. If you can’t attend the game and would like to help, Merlin has two ways:

Visit the STITCH N’ PITCH WALL at merlins dot com. Donate one dollar and place with your name on the wall .

Recipes for Ground Bison

Check out page 9 of the April New Values Magazine for your coupon for a free pound of ground bison from Elliott and Sons Bison. Have you tried it yet?  Not sure what to do with your bison meat?  Try these recipes or get creative.  Watch for an upcoming recipe contest.  Details will be in our May issue.

Buffalo Taco Cups (simple appetizer)

1lb ground bison meat
1 (1.25 oz) pkg taco seasoning
1 (10 oz) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Brown taco meat until no pink- Add taco seasoning to bison.  Press biscuits into bowl shape pushing center down and guiding sides up a medium muffin pan.  Fill biscuits with seasoned meat.  Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.  Sprinkle with cheese.  Bake an additional 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted.  Serve with salsa if desired.

Thirty-five years ago, Studio One Salon & Spa owner Jane Levinsky invested $350 to open her original salon.  Studio One continues today to be a cutting edge Salon & Spa, celebrating 35 years in business.
